What is gold filled?
Gold filled means that there is a thick layer of gold (always over 5%) which has been mechanically bonded to a brass core. Unlike gold plating, this gold layer will not scratch off. To clean, fill a dish with warm water and dish soap. Leave your piece inside for 10 minutes. When done, use a soft toothbrush to gently clean the metal.
